Yankee Doodle was written by a British surgeon to poke fun at the raggle-taggle Yankee militia. The Red Coats sang it as they marched on Lexington and Concord, but it was the Americans who were singing Yankee Doodle as they chased the British back into Boston--and they've been singing it ever since. Ed Emberley printed the woodcuts and the hand-set type on his own printing press. Each figure or grouping was cut on a separate block of wood and printed on rice paper. Then the print was dried, masked, and the next figure was printed. As many as twenty-four perfect impressions had to be made on one piece of paper.

Last year I went to a workshop on a different form of qigong with the noted author and teacher Ken Cohen. (Biography) Nasar tells the story of John Nash, mathematician and Nobel Prize winner in economics. They should be taken out of publication. Curtains should be about 3 feet too long.

6. The book further describes the whys and benefits. That’s all. Well, I decided to do something for me, to improve the inner me, this year for my New Years resolution, and so I am memorizing all 100 of these verses in 2012. As I approached the middle, I lost a bit of interest because some of the story lines seemed to drag. I still ponder Ms. King, and tries to make comparisons between then and now. Like Donald Knuth, author of the essential and elegant "Art of Computer Programming" books, this author has allowed a great book to become mired down in an obscure language rarely used outside of academia.
